Hearing others' adoption stories, reading on experiences, and lots of reading has been preparing our family (including our bio son) on adoption and foster care. Here are some resources we have found helpful and those we intend to pick up and read very soon:

GAMES: 
(I've watched the therapists make any game be a tool for therapy. From P.I.G./H.O.R.S.E. in basketball, to UNO, to Chutes and Ladders. They simply add a new rule which inserts an emotion element which allows the open door to discuss cause/effect or to name an emotion and understand how to handle it better.)

Praying God's Word, Author: Beth Moore. (Not an adoption-specific book, but very helpful in praying over strongholds in your childrens' lives and yours.



* To read/watch. Either waiting for resource to be in stock at www.gacrs.org or next on our reading list. http://www.gaadoptionresources.org/library offers a 5-week period at-a-time to lend books for free. They mail them to your home and include a self-stamped envelope for the returns. Most states offer a lending library. We have found this as a great resource because our local library does not have as many titles specific to adoption and foster care issues.
